Fatou's Lemma in Infinite-dimensional Spaces
Employing recent results of M. Ali Khan we provide an infinitedimensional version of the Fatou Lemma, which includes as a special case the result of Khan and Majumdar [15].
متن کاملSchwarz'S lemma in normed linear spaces.
In this paper we show that any Fréchet holomorphic function mapping the open unit ball of one normed linear space into the closed unit ball of another must be a linear mapping if the Fréchet derivative of the function at zero is a surjective isometry. From this fact we deduce a Banach-Stone theorem for operator algebras which generalizes that of R. V. Kadison.
متن کاملThe Morse Lemma on Banach Spaces
Let /: U-*R be a C3 map of an open subset U of a Banach space E. Letp £ U be a critical point of/ (df¡,=0). If £ is a conjugate space (E=F*) we define what it means for/» to be nondegenerate. In this case there is a diffeomorphism y of a neighborhood of p with a neighborhood of 0 E E, y(p)=0 with foy->(x) = id%(x,x)+f(p). In this paper we define a notion of nondegeneracy for critical points of ...
متن کاملKat Etov's Lemma and Monotonically Normal Spaces
An interpolation lemma due to Kat etov is simpliied in order to make it more general and easier to use. Several results are established to illustrate applications of this lemma, including a characterization of monotonically normal spaces and a topology-free insertion theorem. We also prove that a topological space has an order-preserving insertion if and only if it is dominated by a collection ...
متن کاملThe Morse Lemma for Banach Spaces
REMARK. The above theorem is a classical result of Marston Morse in the case that V is finite dimensional and was generalized by the author to the case that F is a Hubert space [ l ] , [3]. The latter proof makes use of operator theory in Hubert space and does not extend in any obvious way to more general Banach spaces. The proof we give below is completely elementary and works for arbitrary V ...
